Because Army-Navy is better than Michigan-Ohio State, the Triple Option always trumps the Run and Shoot, and college football is most nearly itself when it's played by actual student athletes.

Zerbin Singleton for President in 2008
Quite honestly. If Zerb isn't elected President some point down the road then we have all failed as Americans.
What a great job Zerbin did yesterday! It's amazing to see how his contribution has changed from making clutch blocks for Reggie last year to making clutch plays himself now. Any word on if he got picked up for next semester's Brigade Commander yet?
On another note, while I'm happy with the job JB did and he's certainly a good inside runner, I felt that PJ's playbook was significantly tapered down for this game because of the change in QB's. I hope Kaipo is in fact good to go for A/N.
I thought Navy played the way we expected them to play before the season started. Pretty good offense although stoppable sometimes. Adequate defense that makes some stops but stll gives up 20+ points per game. I don't think anyone expected this year to be characterized by a nearly unstoppable offense and a defense as bad as it has been. Had we been playing all along like we did yesterday, I think we would have the same net record. We would have probably beaten Ball St. Delaware could still have beaten us given the talent of their QB. Likewise with the Pitt game probably ending up a loss.
Definitely thought the offensive creativity was not there yesterday. Could have been just that we got ahead and played for the win. I thought JB would have thrown more. With the way the defense played yesterday, I feel better about our Poinsetta Bowl chances. Given Bill Wagner's article last week, I feel less confident about our DC's future.
I can't imagine Buddy Green's job is in jeopardy. He's had a monumental challenge all year, considering Sovie, Deliz, Buffin, and Rashawn King (i.e., everyone with any experience, other than Spencer) have been out. Look for the D to get a lot better next year. If it is still terrible, THEN maybe it's time to wonder about BG's future.
I think JB was solid but unspectacular because it did seem the "reigns were pulled in" on him. I am not sure why but we did win so theres no issues here. As for Buddy Green and the D - I am sure he will at least get another shot at it for the next 2 years as long as they improve next year(and I for some reason fully expect that to happen). Still- Army moving against Tulsa as they did-now causes some concern.
I can see why Buddy Green's job should be in jeopardy. Yes, the defense has had injuries and is young and inexperienced. This is when it is necessary to have strong leadership and continuity. He has provided neither. There have been way too many position changes and substitutions. They have also been very predictable and he has stubbornly stuck with a weak pass rush coupled with very soft zone coverage in the secondary.

Yeah, the blitz was a horrible call. What he has been doing all season has produced much better results. Please! At least this game they held the opposition below 40 points for the first time since the Air Force game. We had become too predictable and other teams were exploiting it.

I hear you Phelix. It has been a tough season defensively. I have coached football and know that everyone thinks they know more than the coaches. However, I know many of the players and feel for them. They are all good athletes and players and are extremely frustrated. I strongly believe that good coaches should always give the players credit for wins and take the blame for losses.

Look at the block in the photo by Reggie!

Well we blitzed everyone we could on the first opportunity on Saturday. It resulted in a missed tackle and a touchdown.

The point is that we haven't done well no matter what we've tried. It isn't like that was the first time we've blitzed this season.

Here is one Navy fan that is hoping that there won't be any more losses (to accept/divy out the blame for) this season.
GO NAVY!!!
For the record:
JB for President!
