It seems Coach Johnson sent him a message in spring ball, and although he may not see much playing time this year, he's at least putting himself in a position to compete for a job in '08. Guy sounds like he could bench my truck.Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17749495895201058539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20791448.post-62280568258457361412007-08-02T11:41:00.000-04:002007-08-02T11:41:00.000-04:00Speaking of young, it seems that Andy Lark is fina...Speaking of young, it seems that Andy Lark is finally working his way into the mix, which could be huge. Let's hope the kid can play; if he's as good as people were saying he was coming out of HS, can you imagine him and Frazier anchoring the D-Line for the next 3 years?
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but the idea is exciting.usmc53https://www.blogger.com/profile/10525585009700887078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20791448.post-74135570487176465142007-08-02T11:38:00.000-04:002007-08-02T11:38:00.000-04:00Speaking of young and huge, Andy Lark is back in t...Speaking of young and huge, Andy Lark is back in the mix, it seems. Let's hope the kid can play; it would be amazing to have him and Frazier as mainstays on the D-Line for the next 3 years if they're as good as many of us are thinking they may be.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20791448.post-19070140406640574772007-07-23T20:31:00.000-04:002007-07-23T20:31:00.000-04:00Inexperienced-young- I dont care just get to the b...Inexperienced-young- I dont care just get to the ball and that is what our D coach teaches well- that gang tackling style that kept Ray Rice to under 100 yards.
He would have finished at about 45 but they ran it up at end of the game.
You can be young and inexperienced and still get the job done.
its all on the field and actually it should bode well for future years keeping a D together.
We know we will always have the O- But the next 2 years we should have O&D.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20791448.post-4470741395841805952007-07-23T20:17:00.000-04:002007-07-23T20:17:00.000-04:00I'm with you guys. This defense is full of guys who have been chomping at the bit for 2-3 years, and they'll step in ready to fly to the football.
All I know is, I'm glad I'm not a running back who has to run up the middle on Navy's D this year, with Nate Frazier, Clint Sovie, and Irv Spencer waiting to light me up. Those guys will control the middle nicely, and that's where great defense starts.
I think we're in good shape up the middle, and I think the Secondary is solid. The big question mark is the DE's. If they are strong, it could be the difference between a good D and a VERY good D.
GO NAVY!usmc53https://www.blogger.com/profile/10525585009700887078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20791448.post-2075247644905776912007-07-23T15:01:00.000-04:002007-07-23T15:01:00.000-04:00There's definitely a huge difference between an 18...There's definitely a huge difference between an 18 year-old kid and a 21 year-old man. But like you said, our defense isn't young. It's just unproven. PJ seems pretty confident in them by all accounts. It's just one of those things where you never know until "the snot bubbles start flying." I agree with you, I think the D will be fine. But that comes from my faith in the coaches, not anything that's been proven on the field yet. That's why it doesn't bother me much when the media is down on our D this year; I don't expect them to really understand the awesomeness of Buddy & PJ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
